May 7th, 2009 - Flora London Marathon 2009

Everyone at HeadStart Massage wants to say a massive WELL DONE! to all of our marathon runners! We had runners ranging from over 5 hours down to 2hrs40mins. One runner who had a target of under 4 hours managed a 3:59 - some would call that perfect pacing!

All of our runners had individual strategies for the day including nutrition, pacing, kit (including what fancy dress to race in!) and most importantly post-race recovery. We know that a few of them did sneak off for a quick pint post-race however a virtuous one or two braved the ice bath to help reduce muscle stiffness and DOMS (Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness).

Congratulations to everyone involved…..particularly those involved with the Cambridge University Hare & Hounds for their Varsity win over Oxford University!

For all the detailed breakdown of results check the Flora London Marathon website.

Our promise to be different!

We know there is no such thing as a ‘quick fix’! Just as cars need more maintenance with age, the same goes for you!

1. You will not be told that you need weekly appointments indefinitely. How could we know this? What if you improve just after one session?

2. When you choose to work with us you’re not a case of ’subacromial bursitis’ - you’re a person with subacromial bursitis and its important to us that you understand your situation & how to correct it.

Consider the following:

or

How can we help you?

Its more than likely that you are not either of these extremes but Sports Massage can be used to help you.

Everybody is different - different sports, jobs, budgets, bodies. One size does not fit all!

We have the comprehensive knowledge about how bodies work, break, heal & recover. If you are an elite athlete who can only attend once every 6 weeks, or an office worker wanting 30mins twice a week we can tailor our sessions to your needs. Fewer sessions saves you money - but more emphasis is put on self-management, rehab exercises, and good health habits to get you better. This is something we are happy to help with as the whole aim is to get you improved and where you want to be!
